About the role

  • Looking for a skilled and result-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer to manage supplier quality performance and ensure that incoming materials and components meet defined quality standards and specifications.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve the quality performance of suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier audits, process audits, and quality assessments.
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding quality issues, rejections, and customer complaints.
  • Analyze supplier-related defects using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Follow up on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and ensure timely closure.
  • Review supplier quality documents, inspection reports, control plans, and process documentation.
  • Support PPAP/APQP activities for new products and supplier development.
  • Conduct incoming quality issue analysis and coordinate with suppliers for resolution.
  • Develop and maintain supplier quality performance reports and KPIs.
  • Work closely with Purchase, Production, R&D, Incoming Quality, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Support supplier development initiatives to reduce rejection, PPM, rework, and cost of poor quality.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with applicable quality standards and company requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, process improvement, and quality enhancement initiatives.
  • B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Industrial Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 2–5 Years of experience in Supplier Quality / Vendor Quality / Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Supplier Quality Management (SQM).
  • Good understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC and Control Plan.
  • Knowledge of 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Ability to conduct supplier/process audits.
  • Knowledge of quality inspection tools and measuring instruments.
  • Good understanding of drawings, specifications, GD&T, and engineering standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and supplier coordination skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel and quality documentation.
  • Strong follow-up skills and result-oriented approach.
