About the role
- Experience in plastic injection mold design and development, skilled in Creo/SolidWorks, 3D modeling, 2D drafting, plastic materials, and mold manufacturing processes. Strong in problem-solving, cost optimization, quality improvement, and cross-functional coordination.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design & Development:
Create 3D models and 2D drawings for plastic molds, ensuring they meet product specifications and are optimized for the manufacturing process.
- CAD Software Proficiency: Utilize specialized CAD/CAM software for mold design and development.,Expertise in Creo/Solidworks
- Material & Process Knowledge: Understand the properties of various plastics and how they perform in the molding process to create efficient designs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing engineers, process engineers, and other team members to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet project goals.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve design-related challenges and discrepancies that arise during the product development and molding process.
- Cost Optimization: Design cost-effective molds and processes to improve efficiency and reduce material waste.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the final mold design leads to high-quality plastic components and perform regular checks on mold condition for ongoing maintenance and optimization.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze production data and processes to identify opportunities for optimization and implement improvements.
- Education: A degree in engineering or a related field, such as plastic engineering or mechanical engineering.
- Experience: Proven experience in plastic injection mold design and development.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze material properties, manufacturing processes, and production data to identify areas for improvement.
- Communication Skills: Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with various teams.
- Detail-Oriented: A strong eye for detail to ensure accuracy in designs and technical documentation.
