About the role

  • The Manager Design & Development will lead the design, validation, and development of clutch systems for commercial vehicles / Tractors ensuring performance, durability, cost efficiency, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end clutch design & development (Single Plate / Dual Plate / Pull Type / Hydraulic systems)
    Design components like
  • Design components like pressure plate, clutch disc, release mechanism, cover assembly
  • Perform DFMEA, DVP&R, tolerance stack-up analysis, and validation planning
    Collaborate with
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Development)
    Interface with
  • Interface with OEM customers for design reviews, technical discussions, and approvals
    Drive
  • Drive cost optimization, weight reduction, and performance improvement initiatives
    Conduct
  • Conduct failure analysis, root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions
    Ensure compliance with
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and durability requirements
  • Support prototype development, testing, and field trials
  • Manage design documentation, drawings, BOM, and change management (ECN/ECR)

  • Strong knowledge of clutch system design & working principles
  • Expertise in CAD tools (CATIA / Creo / NX)
  • Experience in CAE/FEA analysis (ANSYS / Abaqus preferred)
    Understanding of
  • Understanding of materials, heat treatment, friction materials
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, GD&T
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication and stakeholder management
