About the role
The Production Welder builds metal parts and structures according to engineering plans. This role ensures high output, accurate measurements, and strict safety rules inside the manufacturing shop
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end fabrication shop operations from raw material receipt to final dispatch.
- Plan, monitor, and control production schedules to ensure timely project completion.
- Lead fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and inspection activities.
- Supervise and optimize manpower, including welders, fitters, supervisors, and operators.
- Review fabrication drawings, BOMs, GA drawings, and engineering documents.
- Ensure welding activities comply with approved WPS, PQR, and WPQ standards.
- Monitor welding quality for various materials using SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW processes.
- Coordinate NDT activities and pressure testing.
- Liaise with customers, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies.
- Drive quality assurance, cost optimization, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and quality management systems.
- Strong knowledge of heavy fabrication and structural fabrication
- Expertise in production planning and fabrication methodologies
- Hands-on experience with ASME, AWS, ISO standards
- Strong communication and team management skills
- Experience with third-party inspections
